The Institute of Litigation Law is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research of the three major litigation laws, judicial system, evidence jurisprudence, ADR and other directions. There are 8 teachers in the Institute, including Prof. Zhang Yanli, "Beijing Famous Teaching Teacher", and Prof. Xu Xin, "Outstanding Talent of the Cross-Century announced by the Ministry of Education".

The Institute of Litigation Law has outstanding scientific research achievements in the fields of judicial system, diversified dispute resolution mechanism, protection of parties' rights and interests, bankruptcy law, etc. It has undertaken more than 10 research projects, including the key project of the National Social Science Fund, "Research on the People's Mediation System with Chinese Characteristics", and the key project of the Beijing Social Science Fund, "Research on the Reform of Family Matters Trial Mechanism of Basic Courts in Beijing". It has published On Private Remedy, Consensus on Criminal Judgment, Judicial Mediation: Contract or Judgment? Research on Obstruction of Proof in Civil Litigation", "Legal Regulation of Bankruptcy Fraud", and many other monographs. It has published more than 100 academic papers in China Legal Science, Chinese Journal of Law, Tribune of Political Science and Law, The Jurist, Contemporary Law Review. The Annual Report on China’s Judicial Reform, which has been publicly released every year since 2009, has had a significant impact at home and abroad.

The Institute of Procedural Law offers a series of courses on civil procedure law, criminal procedure law, administrative procedure law, evidence law, arbitration law, bankruptcy law, mediation law and enforcement law for doctoral, master's and undergraduate students, and has edited a number of teaching materials, such as Civil Procedure Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Civil Litigation Theory and System, and Frontier Monographs on Litigation Procedure and System. The "teaching team of procedural law" formed by the institute has special features in practical teaching, bilingual teaching and full English teaching, and has trained students to participate in international criminal law moot court competitions, which have won good results in China for many times; and the "model of cultivating applied/complex legal talents in polytechnic colleges and universities" was awarded the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement.
