The Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law is mainly devoted to research in the fields of the principle of the rule of law, the theory of departmental law and comparative law, as well as to the fostering of talents.
There are 12 members including Prof Qi Yanping, winner of “Top Ten Young Jurists of the Nation”, and the director of the Institute is Prof Han Junling, a scholar of Social Security Law.
The Institute is at the forefront of research in the fields of Human Rights Law, Legislation, Social Security Law, Migration Law, Entertainment law and Intelligent Technology Law, providing important professional advice and legislative proposals for government decision-making, and is an important theoretical research support unit for the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and migration authorities. In the past five years, the scientific research team of the Institute of Legal Theory has undertaken nearly 20 national and ministerial-level projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's “Research on the Legal System of German Science Foundation”, the National Social Science Foundation of China's “Research on Third-Party Legislation Evaluation System”, and “Research on China's Disabled Person's Welfare Legislation”.
The Institute offers a series of undergraduate, master's and doctoral courses in Jurisprudence, Legal History, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Legislation, Labour and Social Security Law, Migration Law, etc., which are highly praised by students, deepens teaching reform and actively promotes the construction of MOOC.
